On the 3rd of August 2026, Solad was honoured to host officials from the National Council on Climate Change and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) at one of our market electrification projects – Iponri Market, Surulere, Lagos.
The visit showcased the impact of decentralized renewable energy solutions on economic clusters through the provision of reliable, clean, and affordable electricity to hundreds of productive use MSMEs in Iponri Market.
Beneficiaries shared testimonials on how solar energy solutions have transformed their business operations, replacing their previous reliance on petrol and diesel generators.
Mr. Bandele Ogunbanjo – a connected beneficiary and one of the leaders of the Iponri Market Tailor Association mentioned the influx of tailors into Iponri Market following the installation of the solar stand alone systems attesting to its power reliability.
Another beneficiary – Mr. Lawrence Archibong who runs a laundry service business mentioned the benefits running operations primarily on solar – cost savings, longer and more productive working hours and increase in customer trust with fulfilled orders according to agreed timelines.
Solad appreciates the opportunity to share our work and reaffirm our commitment to empowering businesses through innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development.
