Yewande Olagbende joined Solad in 2018 and now serves as CEO. She is a seasoned executive with over 20 years professional experience spanning the Banking and Power sector. After working with Top investment banks in the UK, she moved to Nigeria in 2012 and was involved in several capacity building programs in the Power sector and led the rollout of a wide range of solar solutions, delivering energy as a service to thousands of MSMEs across unserved and underserved communities.
At Solad she is leading its mission to empower communities and businesses with sustainable power solutions that strengthen operational resilience. Under her leadership, Solad has grown into a prominent player in Nigeria’s energy sector, with over 6.2MW of deployed capacity.
She is deeply committed to advancing energy access across Nigeria and the broader African continent, driven by a vision to grow the renewable energy landscape—one watt at a time.
She is a member of the United Nations Technical Working Group on Energy Access.
She is a member of the African Women in Energy Development Initiative.
She is a member of the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition.
She is a registered member of the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria.
She is a member of GAIA Africa (representing the Top 5% Female C-Suite Executives, Business Founders and Professionals).
She has a 1st Class BSc (Hons) Degree in Business Economics from Brunel University, United Kingdom.
